Beeper is trying hard to keep iMessage on Android

Beeper says it has fixed the issue so you can send iMessages from your Android phone, but the modification necessitates owning or having easy access to a reliable Mac.

But starting on Wednesday, Beeper Cloud for Mac users will be able to generate what Beeper refers to as "unique" registration data thanks to an update.

According to Beeper, you can share registration information with a friend if you own both Beeper and a Mac. According to Beeper, "10–20 iMessage users can safely use the same registration data." Additionally, the Mac tool that generates the registration data and the iMessage bridge will be made publicly available by the company.

Although these updates seem promising, they greatly reduce the appeal of what initially made Beeper Mini so special. To send iMessages, the original Beeper Mini only required an Android phone and a mobile number, but Apple managed to circumvent that in a matter of days. The app started to crash for many users again recently, but Beeper's next attempt to fix Beeper Mini required logging in with an Apple ID.

Apple did not answer a request for comment right away. However, Apple is likely to try to block Beeper's ability to send iMessages again, as the company has not stopped coming up with ways to do so.
