Intel’s new Battlemage

With the release of the Xe2 graphics card architecture, Intel intends to intensify its competition with AMD and Nvidia in the graphics card market.

Most people are familiar with the name Intel, and those who build PCs are aware that they are one of the two major manufacturers of CPUs for consumers. However, with the release of the Intel Arc series of GPUs in the last few years, Intel has expanded its product line to include graphics cards. As Intel prepares to release its newest GPU series, the Xe2, codenamed "Battlemage," 2024 is now expected to be a three-way GPU battleground.

The first of Intel's new Xe2 GPUs will be released in the second quarter of 2024, according to a recently disclosed roadmap. The BMG-G10 is a high-end card that will be the first to be released with the Battlemage micro-architecture. The BMG-G10 and BMG-G21 will also be part of the product line. The final two lower-end cards' official release date is still pending.
