New Nvidia CPUs!

It has been reported that AMD and Nvidia intend to release Arm-based CPUs for Windows-based computers. According to Reuters, Nvidia has begun developing CPUs with Arm architectures, which may represent a significant development beyond Microsoft's Windows on Arm project. As early as 2025, Nvidia and AMD might have PC chips ready, according to Reuters.

Up until now, Qualcomm and Microsoft have only worked together on Arm-based versions of Windows 11. The Reuters story was published the night before Qualcomm's next major Snapdragon launch, which will probably power Samsung's next flagship phone. According to Reuters, Microsoft executives Pavan Davuluri, vice president of Windows and Devices, and others will be present at Qualcomm's announcement tomorrow.

Lenovo, Asus, Samsung, and Dell all attempted to promote Arm-based Windows devices, but Windows RT failed to make an impact. Nvidia's Arm-based Tegra processor powered Microsoft's first Surface tablet, the Surface RT. Since then, Nvidia Arm-based Windows-based devices have vanished from the scene, as Qualcomm and Microsoft have worked closely to develop customized processors for Surface Pro tablets.

The likelihood of AMD and Nvidia teaming up with Qualcomm for Windows devices running on Arm architecture will put more pressure on Intel to produce chips that can rival Apple's own silicon. With Apple's M1 and M2 chips offering superior battery life and performance, Intel-based laptops have found it difficult to compete. However, in December, Meteor Lake CPUs will be released in an attempt to take on Apple once more.

Additionally, there have been rumors that Microsoft is developing its own Arm-based chips for use in servers and possibly Surface devices. That hasn't happened yet, despite Microsoft and Qualcomm jointly developing an Arm-based SQ1 and SQ2 processor for the Surface Pro X. AMD reportedly collaborated with Microsoft on AI chips in addition to developing a customized Ryzen processor for the Surface Laptop 3.

Now you know what all the fuss is about
