Samsung's upcoming new S24 leaked
We're less than a month away from the release of Samsung's newest flagship phones, the Galaxy S24 line, if rumors are to be believed. Leaker Evan Blass has revealed what seems to to be an early peek at a countdown to the upcoming Galaxy Unpacked, which states that "Galaxy AI is coming" on January 18 at 3AM KST, over on X, the website that was formerly known as Twitter. That corresponds to 1 PM ET on January 17, which is the same day as the launch as previously stated. A leaked spec sheet for the three devices, which Blass also shared, verifies many of their previously speculated features.
The specification sheet indicates that Samsung intends to offer three models in this range once more. The Galaxy S24 comes in three different screen sizes: 6.2 inches for the standard model, 6.7 inches for the S24 Plus, and 6.8 inches for the S24 Ultra. According to the spec sheet, all three will be powered by Qualcomm's most recent flagship processor, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. However, there are rumors that the phones will actually be powered by Samsung's Exynos 2400 outside of the US, Canada, and China.
The leaked spec sheet indicates that the S24, S24 Plus, and Ultra have different battery capacities: 4,000mAh, 4,900mAh, and 5,000mAh, respectively. All models in the range have IP68 water and dust resistance, and the spec sheet states that titanium will be used in the S24 Ultra's construction, as opposed to aluminum in the S24 and S24 Plus.
Photos that Arsène Lupin has uploaded on X will give you a thorough idea of how the phones appear in a variety of hues and perspectives. The three phones look a lot like their 2023 predecessors, though earlier leaks claim that the S24 Ultra's screen is entirely flat this time, doing away with the S23 Ultra's subtle curves. Though other colors might be accessible through Samsung's own store, the current color options are black, gray, purple, and yellow.
In general, the hardware lineup for Samsung's flagship line appears to be undergoing iterations this year. However, if Blass's countdown timer's hint that "Galaxy AI is coming" is any indication, things could get much more interesting from a software standpoint. According to a report published in the Korea Times last month, Samsung's generative AI model, known as "Gauss," may be incorporated into the next generation of Galaxy S24 smartphones and operated natively on the device to produce and edit images, write emails, condense documents, and assist with coding. Samsung has also discussed real-time phone call translation using AI. These features might give Samsung a competitive advantage over Google's most recent AI-enhanced Pixel.
